I'm All You Need Tonight

Strip away the layers
One by one
Separate the boys from the players
Another shot of rum
Cold black zipper heading south
Universal language drips from your mouth

Suddenly face to face
With your shadow on the wall
Time to leave this place
Before your skin begins to crawl
I caught the sign as you split the beads
Time to tend to one's own needs

Bridge:
Here we go
Here we go
Here we go again

Chorus:
Parallel lines that cross in the night
Put back on course by morning's light
Right or wrong
From dusk 'til dawn
I'm all you need tonight

Not the life you really wanted
Aspirations so sublime
Yet steadfast and undaunted
You pay the price and do the time
And all night long
Our song plays on and on

Bridge:
Here we go
Oh no
Here we go again

Chorus:
Parallel lines that...

I caught your sign as you split the beads
Time to tend to our own needs
Can't bite the hand that feeds
My heart pounds while your heart bleeds

I'm all you need tonight
All you need, all you need
I'm all you need tonight
All you need to set things right tonight

Judges Comments:

If you enjoy reading lyrics, this one's for you. Expressions like, verse 1 line 6 get your attention, while "split the beads" sounds comfortable and familiar. It's got a nice rhythm and catchy hook "Here we go". I can already hear the music for this one. I hear a rockish strong lead guitar, probably  male vocals and an active melodic bass. Aggressive drums would set the background nicely. Excellent writing and a good reminder that often good music follows well written lyrics.

Great job Paul J Radford, please send us more.
