Something New

Crawled back out of the basement
Pulled the cobwebs from my hair
Didn't find what I was looking for
Anywhere, anywhere, anywhere

Drove my car out on the highway
Feeling free out on the run
Found out it didn't matter
To anyone, anyone, anyone

Chorus
   Don't worry about it now
   It's just a phase I'm going through
   Sometimes we all look for
Something new, something new, something new

Little Johnny's at the front door
Taking aim with his plastic gun
He saw more luck in the next yard
And he wanted some, wanted some, wanted some

I want to take him to a new place
Pull the cobwebs from his hair
Doubt I'll find what I'm looking for
Anywhere, anywhere, anywhere

   Don't worry about it now
   It's just a phase I'm going through
Sometimes you have to look for
Something new, something new, something new

Judges Comments:

I like these lyrics. Metaphor, metaphor metaphor. There's nothing like good use of metaphors. These lyrics are thought provoking yet simple enough not to hurt your brain (or loose your attention). I like the emphasis created by word repeating. This will lend itself to nice musical treatment. These lyrics remind me of early Joni Mitchell. They will be served well by excellent music. That kind of sophisticated, yet seemingly easy type of music where the players have subtle little solos. No hot-dogging. The vocals have a chance to really make it here.

Nice job, Lenore, how about another one?
