How Can I Put It

Baby, I've got a future
Baby, I've got a past
Baby, I've got a present for you
Full of love that's sure to last

Baby, I've got loving eyes
Baby, I've got biding dreams
Baby, I've got open arms
To draw you into the sweetest peace

How can I put it down in words
Each attempt gets crumpled and tossed
How can I put it down in words
Lord, I'm at a loss, how can I put it
How can I get my point across

Baby, I've got a pan
Baby, I've got a fire
Baby, I've got something hardy cooking
It's a powerful, strong desire

Baby, I've got no mysteries
Baby, I've got nothing to hide
Baby, I've got volumes of love
To page through if you're so inclined

How can I put it down in words
Each attempt gets crumpled and tossed
How can I put it down in words
Lord, I'm at a loss, how can I put it
How can I get my point across

I love you
How can I put it down in words
Each attempt gets crumpled and tossed
How can I put it down in words
Lord, I'm at a loss, how can I put it
How can I get my point across

Judges Comments:

Though these lyrics have a more modern read to them, I can still feel the classical blues rhythm. Love sings the blues. I like the use of "Baby", it helps give it that personal, "Honey listen, 'cause I'm singin to ya" sound. The chorus has an interesting emphasis in the last two lines. I hear a medium paced traditional blues rhythm, with all the usual solos. A good strong harp played in the background and prominently soloed, would set this song off. Real bluesy vocals, probably male, should be the focus of what you hear. The music should supports this, and then punch it in the solos. This will make a great blues song.

Good job Cindy, please let us hear more.
