Painter's Blue

I ain't ready yet
Boss is on the phone
I lost the drinkin bet
And I barely made it home

He don't want no excuses
Never mind my poundin head
No interest what my ruse is
Least that I be dead

Chorus:

I brighten up your world
That's what I do
I put the final coat on it
So it's shiny and new

Another day of sniffin paint
Can't really blame my brain
It always seems to want to wait
If it could think I'd be insane

I'm out with the B team
Don't hang with the A's
Got no clue what that means
I just ignore what they says

No teeth, no brains, no future
That's all they've got
You know you're at the bottom
When you're stuck with this lot

I must of done something wrong
Somewhere in my past
Each mornin I wake up and wonder
How long this Hell will last

Chorus:

Judges Comments:

As usual, blues tunes are often written about the hard aspects of a hard life. Usually by someone going through hard times. These lyrics (pardon the pun) paint a picture of someone lost in a go nowhere existence, with those at the bottom of the bucket! Blues can sometimes be depressing. The only ray of positive thought is that he helps makes your world "shiny and new". I hear a strong solo vocal in the verses and good harmonies in the chorus. A single clear lead guitar rifting in the background with an echoing bass would do it. I think the tempo is on the slow side. Background harp would top this off, to the max!

Way to lay it down Slow Man Leaning, now send us some more.
