(melody "I am Woman.")

I AM LAW-YER, HEAR ME BORE,
IN WORDS I'VE SAID BEFORE,
AND YOU KNOW YOU'LL HEAR IT ALL AGAIN
WELL, I'VE SAID IT ALL BEFORE
FROM THE ROOF TO THE FLOOR
AND YOU OWE TOO MUCH TO START AGAIN

YES I'M CONTINGENT PAID
BUT LOOK HOW MUCH I'VE MADE
AND IF I HAVE TO
I'LL DO ANYTHING

YES, I AM BOUGHT
YES, I AN SOLD
I AM LAW-YER

YOU CAN HIRE, BUT NEVER TAKE ME
CAUSE IT ONLY SERVES TO MAKE ME
MORE DETERMINED TO HAVE YOUR GOLD
AND I'LL SUE YOU EVEN STRONGER
WITHOUT A HEART ANY LONGER
JUDGE EXTENDED THE CONVICTION OF MY SOUL

YES IM CONTINGENT PAID
BUT LOOK HOW MUCH I'VE MADE
AND IF I HAVE TO
I'LL DO ANYTHING
YES, I AN BOUGHT
YES, I AM SOLD
I AM LAW-YER.

Lyrics:  I AM LAW-YER, HEAR ME BORE
Author: ROBERT WHITE

Judges Comments:

These lyrics cleverly pick up on several notable points. Many legal documents use the same language. It's often too expensive (and risky) to recreate them. That contingency based fees can be lucrative. That a Lawyer's heart and soul are in their work, "I'll do anything." That we shouldn't mess around in their arena, especially with them. Now, was that polite? Right! How do you really feel about them? Thoughtful writing (and with feeling [no doubt]).

Enlightening work ROBERT WHITE,  please craft us more.

THIS OLD CAR

With this old car, I've been through it all,
Through rain, sleet, snow, spring, summer and fall,
Until the day, the day the motor died.

It started with a 'click'
Loud as a pin drop
That went unnoticed
As I lowered the top.

With the wind in my hair
Thought I heard a 'thud',
Looked back to see a
Poor squirrel in the mud.

Next day was a hot one
So I went to the beach.
I swam in the water,
Met a girl by the sea.

She was the finest
But that's beside the point,
On the trip back home
We both heard a 'floink'.

I pulled off the road,
The rad boiled over
Leaving a trail of water
By a patch of lush clover.

I let the car cool
For a minute or two,
Then started it up,
'Bang', a piston blew.

We hitchhiked on home
With a trucker named Rick
And now I've one less car
But up one more chick!

With this old car, I've been through it all,
Through rain, sleet, snow, spring, summer and fall,
Until the day, the day the motor died.

Judges Comments:

These are well written and fun lyrics. I appreciate the use of onomatopoeia as added imagery for our senses. The words tell the story in a easy comfortable style. I liked the side tracks like the squirrel and how fine the girl was, "but that's beside the point." However, 'floink' is my favorite! A lot of fun could be had with this song. Maybe kind of a summer, surfer type sound. Lots of harmonies, with changing lead vocals, back and forth. There's no end to this one. Nice!

An 'automatic' winner Jay Shaw, please 'zoink' us with more.

Poor Mike Tyson

Poor Mike Tyson, like's to bite
Evan-ders ears.
with a bite, bite there,
another piece of ear.
there a bite, here a bite,
Poor Mike Tyson like's to bite,
Evan-ders ears.

Poor Mike Tyson lost his job.
Well , well ,well, welfare.
With a hand out here,
a parole board there.
In a cell, a padded cell,
back in to a private hell.
Poor Mike Tyson lost his job,
Well , well , well , thats fare.

Poor Mike Tyson is a fool,
Let's just say Don King.
With a lie, lie here,
another lie there,
10 cans of spray to hold up his hair.
Poor Mike Tyson is a fool.
Let's just say Don King..............

Interesting choice of topic. I love it! We know the tune and we know the story too. Great. Somehow, this story set to a child's nursery rhyme seems appropriate. Good thinking and good writing.

Keep it up Mike LOVY , we want some more.
