 Sky, Birds and Rain

I've been to the city
With all its lights and crowd
You know that its a pity
To have to be that loud

 Chorus:

Give me sky, birds and rain
 The smell of the earth
 It's here I will remain
Every bit of it is worth

 An eternity

I've been so far from home
Tying to be found
I've never felt so all alone
Every time I turn around

Chorus:

Well, I got myself so lost
I forgot the simple pleasures
Maybe that's what it costs
You need bad to make the measure

Chorus:

I ain't gonna stay here
I'm gonna leave it all to them
I'm too much and too near
My wits are at the end

I need my open space
They can stay there where they are
There ain't no other place
For me, this is as far

As eternity

Judges Comments:

This one sounds like that adventure we all sooner or later take. You know, pick up the challenge and go to the big city. It's an easy story to listen to. I get this sort of twang, when I hear the words. A high sliding steal guitar could make this a great sounding song. Some good harmonies on the chorus would go a real long way too. Watch out you "good old boys", somebody's got a story to tell and a song to sing.

Nice one G. O. West and please send us some more.
