Hardened Man

His face was weathered by the sun
Like leather it was tanned
The story lines carved deep upon
Told tales of a hardened man

The tale not told was his alone
Its' weight he barely could stand
The years effect had marked this man
Like cattle, HE wore HIS brand

(Refrain)

Oh Lord, my God, this life has failed me
Like a prison I can't escape from
Please take me Lord and end my sorrow
I'm tired, Lord, please bring me home

I'd loved her more than she could know
He's robbed me of my life
What I had done any man would do
I loved, but lost my wife

(Refrain)

Oh Lord, my God,  this life has failed me
Like a prison I can't escape from
Please take me Lord and end my sorrow
I'm tired, Lord, please bring me home

Lyrics:  Hardened Man
Author: Philip Miracle

Judges Comments:

This is good work - strong emotion and nice phrasing. And effective description - the lyrics paint a clear picture of a hardened man with it's rancher / cowboy flavoring of the words.

Alright there Philip Miracle and please send us some more.
