 Only Talk to Sarah

If I could only talk to Sarah for a while,
She'd know just how I feel
Inside, the conversation holds a truth
My best disguise cannot conceal,
'Missing You's and 'How you been?'s
'We'll have to get together now and then.'
But the moments between now and then I spend,
Are best described as wasted time.

If I could only talk to Sarah,
Even for a moment, I'd be fine,
Though the words I gently walk around,
She always knows what's on my mind,
The words are coming easier,
It comes down to the truth's not hard to tell,
Commanding all my courage,
I will say those words and wait for time to tell.

If I could only talk to Sarah for a while,
I know I'd be allright.
If I could only talk to Sarah, even for a moment,
I'd be fine.
If I could only talk to Sarah...

Judges Comments:

We humans, all seem to have an unrequited need for deep connection.  As I listen to these words, I drift back to some of my own relationships. Telling this story against a folk backdrop is comfortable and easy. The music could add as much as the lyrics. I hear harmony and guitars and probably the gentle rhythm of brushes. This one works well on the emotions and is easily related to.

Good one Dan Davis / David Marsh, now send us some more.
