Pat Pattison's web site

As you know, Pat's book, Writing Better Lyrics, is available in our bookstore. Now you can preview some of the book's material on Pat's site! I have read this book and strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to write better lyrics. The depth of Pat's knowledge of this subject is phenomenal. And we are very excited about Pat's association with LyricsReview.com! Following is just a part of Pat's bio.

Pat Pattison is a Professor of lyric writing and poetry at Berklee College of Music, where he developed the curriculum for the only Songwriting Major in the country.  In addition to his three books, Writing Better Lyrics,  (Writer’s Digest Books), Managing Lyric Structure  and Rhyming Techniques and Strategies (Hal Leonard), Pat has written for Home & Studio Recording Magazine, The Performing Songwriter, and the LASS Musepaper.  He continues to present songwriting clinics across the country.

SongLink International

This site is serious: where lyrics writers dream can come true, if you have some commercial flair with a professional attitude and, ideally, quality finished demos.* With the ultimate goal of having someone record one of your songs, you would do well to keep an eye on this site. Each month SongLink provides details of around 30-40 upcoming recording projects around the world requiring songs, with concise details about (a) the artist; (b) the style of music required; and (c) where to send your demos. Subscribers then respond by sending the required  items directly to the contacts listed in the magazine. Lots of interesting news here too!

*PLEASE NOTE: most companies are looking for quality finished demos - lyrics on their own are not normally required unless specifically asked for, which is not too often. You need to be working with a composer/musician and the  best possible singer to send in finished demos, accompanied by your lyrics, in order for your work to get serious industry attention. -- If you join this service, please make sure to tell them LyricsReview.com referred you!

You've got to check this one out!! If you've ever gotten to that line at the end of a verse and just couldn't think of a word that rhymed, then this is the help you've been waiting for. Try it. It gives you a choice of one (1) or two (2) or three (3) syllables ending in the rhyme. I don't do it justice here. Go see for yourself. It's quite handy.
