 Help Us Understand

A man in camouflage walks into McDonalds,
Fifteen minutes fifteen dead.
A girl in seventh grade shoots up her classroom,
There were voices in her head.
I can't watch the news for death and destruction,
Satan's loose upon the land,
Everywhere you look its sex and seduction,

We ask You, Holy Father,
We ask You, Holy Father,
Help your sons and daughters understand.

On a mountain top in Appalachia,
 The trees begin to die,
Acid rain falls down and burns us,
From a poisoned sky,
A hole the size of Maine burned right through the ozone,
Hot house gasses fill the air,
Killer satellites orbit the heavens,

We ask You, Holy Father,
We ask You, Holy Father,
Help your sons and daughters living under all this  understand.

Help us understand that You are still up in the Heavens
And there's a plan,
That things happen for a reason,
Help us understand.

Lyrics:  Help Us Understand

Judges Comments:

These are just plain and simple great lyrics. The choice of words to express the dilemmas is touching. There is a real sense of questioning here. High emotion music, melodic and intricate would sound divine (pardon the pun). I hear a male vocalist with a tenor range. Light harmony would be a nice touch too. My choice for the key featured instrument is the piano. Played slightly aggressively.

An enlightening one Anjel Negroh, now send us some more.
