| I Saw a Light
I saw a light, a tiny light,
A single candle lit up the night.
Then there were two, and still it grew
Till darkness vanished in glory bright.
And now the night is ablaze with flaming wonder,
And all the gloom and shadows disappear--
For One has come to change our dark to dawning.
He is the Light. He is the bringer of the light.
I heard a song, a simple song,
The sobbing silence hushed as it grew strong.
Its melody rose clear and free,
Ten thousand voices joined the harmony.
And now the night is filled with choirs singing,
And every flame is dancing to the sound--
For One has come to set our souls to singing.
He is the Song. He is the bringer of the song.
I know a Man, a holy Man--
Born of a virgin, the great I Am.
Babe of the manger, King on His cross--
Came into darkness to seek the lost.
And now my life is filled with light and music,
For He has brought the bright flame and the song--
And Jesus changed my silence into singing.
He is my life. He is my light. He is my song.
I saw a light, a tiny light.
A single candle lit up the night.
Then there were two, and still it grew
Till darkness vanished in glory bright.
I saw a light.
