| In Heaven Someday
(1)
I was only five years old when grandpa passed away,
I don't recall too much from then, but I won't forget that day.
You see, I was told when you leave this world you fly up in the sky,
So when they put grandpa in the ground I soon began to cry.
(chorus)
"You'll see him in Heaven, son," my grandma said to me.
"He'll have a big smile on his face, just like there used to be.
Everybody has to leave and he has to fly away.
But you'll see him in Heaven someday.

Grandma took her last breath almost ten years from that day.
I was older and I knew why she had to go away.
And although I knew where she went tears soon filled my eyes.
Mama took me in her arms and with a loving smile,
(chorus)
she said "You'll see her in Heaven son, beside the Family Tree.
There'll be a big smile on her face just like there used to be.
Everybody has to leave and she has to fly away.
But you'll see her in Heaven someday.

Mama's end was coming at the age of sixty-three.
We all knew the time was near and we prayed to give her peace.
I took her hand as she grew weak and asked her not to leave.
She looked up at me and smiled and said these words to me.
(chorus)
"I'll see you in Heaven son, so there's no need to grieve.
I'll have a big smile on my face just like there used to be.
Everybody has to leave, and I have to fly away.
But I'll see you in Heaven someday".
(bridge)
We all face the final days as our life nears its end.
And Heaven is the guarantee we'll meet up once again.
(chorus)
"I'll see you in Heaven child", my Father says to me.
All the people that you love are waiting anxiously.
Everybody has to leave, and your time's not far away.
So I'll see you in Heaven someday,
I'll see you in Heaven someday,
Yes I'll see you in Heaven someday,
