please take away the next child's pain

i sit by and let it pass
if the world never gave my life consideration
does it truly deserve my second glance

yet i watch in wonder and amazment
as the children are stripped of their youth
if i reach out to help the endless line ahead
will that mean i have given up the truth

the next child is still waiting
for someone to lead him through
and though this chance i haven't taken
doesn't mean you should leave it too 
 

A Friend

listens when they're tired

and shows you how to learn,

the bad that you have done,
but really cares that you do know
there's clouds AND there's the sun

A Friend

to the Holy One above.
