| Title: The Present | Copyright: unknown |
My parting gift is today this is the present
Wrapped in ribbons of realistic views
Been asleep for so long I forgot I knew
I didn't have to be awake to see right through
This self-induced coma since I met you
I woke up this morning doing way better than you
Rather wake up baby then just come to
Awareness came from some where in between
Slipping out of a trance right into this scene
Laughing out loud like its some kind of game
When you swore on the bible it burst into flames
You looked at me eyes glaring with blame
Asking me why things cant stay the same
Leaving I said nothing is constant but change
I woke up this morning doing way better than you
Rather wake up baby then just come to
You can't say your sorry, its too late
Sleeping Beauty woke up, yeah she's awake

| Title: The List | Copyright: 1998 |
A father called his grown son to the side of his deathbed
A pencil in his hand, he smoothed his paper out and said
"I'll take along a message to the loved ones that you've missed
Tell me who, and I will make a list"
The son said,"You'll see Mama standing just inside the gate
Whisper that I'll see her when I meet my final fate
Tell her that I miss her smile and tender mother's kiss
That is why I want her on your list
"Tell my dear old Grandma that I'll see her by and by
Tell her that I'm sorry that we never said goodbye
Make sure that she knows her quiet strength is sorely missed
Add my sweet grandmother to the list
"Daddy, when you look upon the wondrous face of Christ
Thank Him for the good things I've been given in my life
Tell Him that without Him I would surely not exist
And have Him bless the people on your list"
The father said, "I love you, son" and laid his pencil down
Drew his final breath and passed away without a sound
And when the man was buried, one detail could not be missed
For in his withered hand he held The List
